Our purpose

The creation of this group is a direct result of a charter set forth by the Obama for America campaign. It was Barack Obama's wish that, once the election was over, the network of individuals and teams that came together to elect him would continue by serving their communities, helping pass legislation and electing candidates that represent the change we hope to achieve.

The purpose of this group is to facilitate the organizing efforts of individuals working for change in our community. In effect it is both a clearing house and resource center for local community organizers to work on issues and campaigns that are important to their community, whether that community is their neighborhood, city, area, state, region, nation or the world.

This group will be part of the larger community organizer network that evolves out of the Obama campaign. The hope is that people can opt in to work on whatever campaign or suits their interests while others are free to pursue other sets of interests.

The work did not end November 4th. It has just begun.
